Devon Paige wants to make you smile. She believes that pop music should get you excited, cheer you up, and brighten your day.
Her latest single “Love and Dreams” does exactly that. “Love and Dreams” is a danceable, blood-pumping song which blends together much of what makes pop music so good.
It has the catchy choruses of Katy Perry, the emotional build-up of Carly Rae Jepsen, and the timeless instrumentation of Hatchie. Sounds from across the 21st century in pop can be heard on this single, giving “Love and Dreams” a timeless feeling like no other.
Devon says, “I just love happy songs. I love to drive with my windows down listening to good music. So, I wanted to make a song that for that moment – for when you’re in the car or getting ready with your friends. Something very upbeat and catchy.”
Devon Paige spent her childhood moving from state to state, spending time in Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and the Carolinas. This travel has put her in close contact with music, as her twin sister began pursuing musical theater.
As Devon followed her sister’s footsteps, and began performing onstage, she became drawn to the thrill of performing. She says, “Yeah, I realized I don’t get stage fright. When I’m up there, I think ‘This is where I want to be.’”
After becoming an adult, Devon prioritized school and work, developing her skills in communications and eventually working for a corporation. When her father and grandmother had passed, Devon had reflected upon how she had spent her time and realized that she needed to turn back to music.
She says, “You know, life is so short. You don’t know how much time you have left, and you need to put your passions first. I love being onstage. I love entertaining. I want to put on shows and bring people into it – make music that is interactive and fun for everybody.”
Now, Devon Paige is experiencing a rapid rise in success. In three days, she has moved in position from 173 to 33 to number nine on the Emerging 300 list. “In the studio, my husband was like a puppy. He was spinning around in his chair, amazed. He was so impressed with how far I’ve come,” she remembers.
With the great Trey Vittetoe and Esjay Jones on her team, Devon Paige is poised to be the voice of summertime in America. These are the best two people to have on a team for this mission: Trey Vittetoe has produced for Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, and Esjay Jones has been incredibly active with SoCal’s rock musicians.
Later this year, Devon Paige looks forward to performing in the Harrisburg area in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, she’s excited to continue to make music and build her fanbase.
“My goal is to break into the Billboard charts,” says Devon. “Even with the reach I have now, people reach out to me on social media and let me know how much they love it and relate to it. And this is all why I do it. I want to make people happy, and it makes me very happy that people are enjoying it.”
“I’m in this for the passion. This is what I want to do and I’m so excited to take people on this journey with me. Even when life’s hard, like it has been this decade, if I can just take people’s mind off of things and uplift them for even just three minutes, that’s enough. I just want to give people the ease they need to keep going with whatever they’re doing in life,” Devon says, smiling.
