Rock Duo, Follow No One, Brings Cinema To Their Latest Rock Album, ‘fate’

Award-winning duo Follow No One is bringing the magic of Rock & Roll to fans old and new through a game-changing concept album. Artists Rich Hall and Pedro Murino Almeida make up the international duo that has been drawing avid listeners over the years through mesmerizing guitar riffs and distinct vocal stylings. The duo has gained recognition internationally and won the award for Best Rock Act in 2019 at the JMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

Set to release on May 13, Follow No One’s newest album, “Fate,” is guaranteed to make a splash across the industry. Accompanied by audio scenes and flashbacks, the album has designed to be enjoyed in one sitting, with strong tracks that stand well on their own as singles. “This is a concept album like none we have ever done before. It’s unique in that there are actual audience scenes between tracks and plays like a movie from start to finish,” explains Hall of the artistic direction of “Fate.” Flowing like a well-spoken story, the tracks on “Fate” start heavy to match the opening tone and middle section and transition to full-blown, 10-part vocal finale.

Drawing from their combined diverse musical backgrounds, the duo delivers a fresh take on a tried-and-true sound with “Fate.” The heavy rock album journeys through a dramatic start, smooths into melodic rock, and returns with a full-orchestra finish. The 17-track work of art is set to challenge the industry with its cinematic concept styling and musical mastery. Eager fans can preview “Fate” on YouTube and watch the movie trailer introducing the concept before its market release.

Pedro Murino Almeida, the guitarist of the pair, hails from Portugal with roots in Brazil. Classically trained in composition, the guitarist composes work not only for Follow No One but for film and video as well. Rich Hall, lead vocalist and writer of the duo, is an all-American, multi-talented musician with a penchant for performance since childhood. Pedro and Rich are a dynamic duo—“we finish each other’s sentences and what each other is thinking before we say it,” says Rich of their compatibility as artists and friends.

In order to produce such a robust album, the duo relied on each other’s strengths. “To keep things fresh, our process varied from song to song,” shares Hall of the creative process. “In some cases, I gave Pedro a topic and where to fit it in to the overall vision of how the album would evolve. Other times, I don’t write lyrics until I hear the music. I feel what’s going on, and the lyrics work better when we do it that way.”

Through vigorous riffs and subtle melodies, the album tells not just any story but that of lyricist Rich Hall. Army veteran, corporate executive, and family man, Hall swiftly lost everything that mattered to him, and, after a brush with fate, went on to reclaim his life and thrive once again. The musical variations through the album illustrate Hall’s journey through sound and emotion, taking listeners on an auditory voyage filled with drama and triumph.

Follow No One wants listeners to remember that “everybody goes through certain struggles. What this album tries to do is take you from a dark place in the beginning and keep going and keep your head up and you will find that good things will happen to you. Yet nothing will happen if you do nothing.” “Let love be your guide,” says Hall of the duo’s guiding principle.
